I graduated 2005 in from Brunel University, UK, with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy following my first BSc in Sports Science & Biology. This provides me with a unique combination of physiotherapy with strength and conditioning training and insight. I spent eighteen months passing through the core rotations as a junior before specialising in Musculoskeletal.
Since then I have developed my skill set to provide specialist assessment for a wide range of complex musculoskeletal, sports injuries, rheumatological, orthopaedic, diabetes, women’s health, paediatric and oncological conditions.
I am able to provide excellent evidence based treatments varying from manual therapy, acupuncture, dry needling, strength and conditioning programmes, rehabilitation post surgical interventions, massage, electrotherapy, Pilates, pre-habilitation, ante-natal and women’s health.
I am an alumni of the University of the West Indies with a BSc. (Hons) in Physical Therapy. Being passionate, dedicated, reliable and adaptable, I strive for optimal rehabilitation results by ensuring that all treatments are patient specific and evidenced based. I am experienced in the management of orthopedic, neurologic, respiratory and cardiovascular cases which was garnered in the public and private settings. I aspire to working with you so that you may attain your goals and functional independence.
I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Health Science from the University of South Florida in 2016. I then went on to obtain my Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Florida Gulf Coast University. During my time in the Physiotherapy program, I worked with a variety of patients including: Oncology, Pediatrics, Orthopedic, Post-surgical, Wellness and Geriatrics.
After graduating, I worked as a Physio in Florida for a few months before returning home and joining the Back Into Motion team. If I look familiar, it may be that you saw me while I volunteered here in 2018! I am currently certified in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and it is my goal to learn new skills and treatments to help you reach your therapy goals!
I graduated from the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2008 with a BSc in Osteopathic Medicine, a Diploma in Naturopathy and a certificate in Dry Needling. I am a structural Osteopath with a keen eye and the knowledge and experience to provide treatment to patients with ailments ranging from sports-related injuries, arthritic pain, cervicogenic headaches, nerve impingement, and acute/chronic back pain but to name a few. Treatments consist of massage, neuromuscular techniques, dry needling, joint manipulation (where necessary) and mobilisations.
Since the outset, I have had a desire to work in a multidisciplinary clinic. The type of clinic where a patient can smoothly transition between Osteopathy, Physiotherapy, Strengthening and Massage Therapy when required and not have to go through the hassle of going to numerous clinics, Back Into Motion has achieved this.
My passion for health, fitness and sports led me to a degree in Kinesiology from The University of Western Ontario, Canada. Shortly after graduating, I moved to this beautiful island and immediately started working in the industry as a personal trainer and group exercise instructor. I went on to become a certified Exercise Physiologist from The American College of Sports Medicine and now have spent over 20 years in the health and fitness industry. For many years I worked with West Indies and Barbados cricket as a Strength and Conditioning Coach. During this time my role was to develop fitness and training programs but I also had the pleasure of working closely with physiotherapists, dealing with the rehabilitation of injuries and assisting in strengthening programs to get players back to full fitness.
I hope to add to the team of professionals at Back Into Motion by helping individuals become pain and injury free. Assisting where possible when it comes to the various areas of fitness, I hope that I can succeed in helping each client achieve a healthy and active lifestyle.
I graduated from Fanshawe College in London, Ontario, Canada in 2005 with a Diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion. With over 13 years of experience in the field, I have worked with clients from age 8 to 80 years – runners, athletes, water therapy, orthopaedics, rehabilitative clients, couch-potatoes turned marathon-runners, pre and post-natal clients and clients who simply want to live healthy, active lives.
At Back Into Motion, my goal is to continue with my passion for helping others to become healthy and active, by prescribing programs that will allow patients to become fully-functional individuals. I take them through client-specific movements that range from general strengthening and conditioning, balance, stability and proprioception. My goal is to work with our wonderful team of professionals, so that patients can resume life in the most effective and efficient manner as is possible.
When I stumbled upon Pilates, it was love at first try. By 2016 I was Pilates trained and by 2017 I completed training as a reformer instructor and Pilates for Injured and Special population Individuals. As a Pilates instructor I share not only my passion for this form of exercise, but I am enabled to assist clients to achieve their goals in fitness and rehabilitation.
Being a Personal Trainer and TRX instructor has fortified my Pilates Training and propelled me further to provide excellent guidance in the areas of core strength, postural alignment, muscle balance and post rehabilitation conditioning.
Being a member of the Team at Back Into Motion I get to be a part of a holistic team of professionals who support and guide clients along their journey to rehabilitation while providing excellent service.
I attended a 9-month Power Pilates training course in Boca Raton, Florida, in 2011, where I gained my qualifications as a comprehensive apparatus teacher, giving me full knowledge of the Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced System, utilizing the mat, Reformer, Cadillac, Chairs, Barrels, Ped-O-Pull and Magic Circle, while incorporating the principle of Pilates Exercises based on the teachings of Joseph Pilates.
I have gained 8 years experience, 4 years teaching full time in a busy Pilates studio. I am excited to be joining such an amazing team of professionals at Back into Motion. where I look forward to using The Classical Power Pilates Method to help patients in their rehabilitation and prevention of injuries through core strength.
After two years of studying Holistic Massage Therapy as well as Anatomy and Physiology at ITEC, school of London and graduating in 2016, I passionately threw myself into this fascinating field.
I aim to provide relief to clients who suffer from pain as I know first-hand how debilitating it can be. I have always thought of massage therapy as more of a therapeutic treatment. It can be extremely beneficial whether it is just to calm the body from fight or flight mode or to prevent or treat injuries and everyday aches and pains.
I’m so excited to treat you and to continue expanding my knowledge and skills especially in such an inspiring and dynamic environment such as Back Into Motion.
After doing a two-year full-time course in Toronto, Ontario, I am now a Canadian-trained registered massage therapist. I specialize in deep therapeutic massage, a technique which is ideal in treating injuries, as well as preventative treatment dealing with the health of muscles, connective tissue and joints. I also provide Swedish relaxation massages.
After graduating in 2014, I returned home and began working at Back Into Motion Physiotherapy in 2015 as a part-time massage therapist. My goal is to intuitively customize the treatment to each patient’s specific needs and to provide effective massages to everyone I treat.
I am a 2009 graduate of ITEC School of London, where I studied holistic massage therapy, anatomy & physiology, and reflexology. At Back Into Motion Physiotherapy Clinic, I perform therapeutic massage of soft tissues and joints to assist in increased range of motion and muscle release and stability, as well as supporting and facilitating patient plans for recovery.
Throughout my years as a therapist, I have worked in professional sports environments, wellness spas, and in the home therapy arena. I have found that no matter the injury, whether accident, sports-related or emotional, massage can improve the physical and mental functioning of every recipient. I have overtime developed an intuitive touch that draws on a range of modalities, whether gentle fascia-type release or deep-tissue treatments. Every massage is personally crafted to suit your distinctive needs with a strong focus on a quick recovery. I deem massage fundamental to health and I am happy to aid you on your path to recuperation and wellness.
I studied at Peacehaven Holistic Therapy School here in Barbados for 3 years becoming a Sports Massage Therapist. I aim to assist our clients in full recovery and transition back to enjoying all of their favourite hobbies and sports. Simply to be able to use their body and know that it has them covered!
