The QTF definition of Whiplash-Associated Disorders has been adopted as the definition of acute or sub-acute simple neck pain for the purposes of this blog.

Whiplash is an acceleration-decelration mechanism of energy transfer to the neck. It may result from situations such as motor vehicle accidents and sport related injuries. The impact may result in bony or soft tissue injuries, which in turn may lead to a variety of clinical manifestations.
